To inform school administrators of a mandatory ONLINE overview training for school website webmasters regarding Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) website compliance guidelines.

  • During the March 2019 Scaled Leadership meeting, principals were informed that school websites needed to be ADA acceptable no later than August 2020.
  • Additionally, School Operations disseminated a survey regarding identification of schools' web masters and third-party contracts.
  • A memorandum (M085) was also issued to principals from Ms. Valtena G. Brown, Deputy Superintendent/Chief Operations Officer outlining expectations, moving forward as it relates to terminating third party webmasters. (See attached) 
  • In a continued effort to support schools' transition seamlessly, an overview is being provided to inform schools of steps that can be taken to make their website ADA compliant.
  • School website webmasters must attend the online overview. An alternate cannot attend.
